Considered the most valuable stone in the Chalcedony group, Chrysoprase gets it’s color from nickel and often forms as nodules or in crevices of nickel deposits. It has been dated back to as early as 400 B.C. and important mines were once found in Poland nut have been mined out since the 14th century. Current specimens come from Australia, Brazil, South Africa, Madagascar, and Russia. Chrysoprase is considered a stone of the heart and of the pure Green Ray.
