My Story
Hello! Thanks for being here! My name is Kate Seiler and I'm a jewelsmith, living and raising my two daughters with my husband in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I started out making jewelry in high school (if you're reading this, hi Ms. Bunch!) and even though I loved it, I didn't picture it being a big part of my future. But then my first job was at a local jewelry shop and over the course of my 10 years there I learned how to make more jewelry and all about gemstones and their properties. Once the owner closed up shop I needed to make a decision about what to do next so naturally I stuck with what I was already good at and took a flying leap into small business ownership! In early 2017 I went public with my Etsy shop; North Croft is the name of our house and so my business name is an ode to where I started--in my tiny little home studio. I have since moved into a bigger space and have expanded to markets, shows, festivals, and fairs (Tulip Time, DIYpsi, Kindlefest, York seasonal markets, Ann Arbor Art Fair & Sunday Artisan Market, to name a few) as well as custom work for weddings and holidays. While I make all the jewelry and do all of the behind the scenes business work, I couldn't do any of it without my incredibly supportive and equally as handy husband, Andy. He has believed in me since day one and has even made all my wood displays and helps get my booths set up. If you see him with me at a show say hi, he loves everyone!
